1,4 Butanediol

1,4-butanediol (Butane-1,4-diol) is an organic substance with the molecular formula of C4H10O2 and molecular weight of 90.12. The appearance is colorless or yellowish oily liquid. Combustible, freezing point 20.1 ℃, refractive index 1.4461. It is soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, and slightly soluble in ether. It is hygroscopic, tastes bitter, and tastes slightly sweet.
